Microfluidic Cartridge: NMDA-R Mutation Detection

Microfluidic Cartridge: NMDA-R Mutation Detection - 2022
In collaboration with the Northwestern Falk Center for Molecular Therapeutics, my team and I designed, mocked, and created business plans for a microfluidic cartridge utilizing frangible seal blisters and elastomeric microvalves, loop-mediated isothermal amplification (LAMP), and a lateral flow assay to test point mutation affecting NMDA receptors. The device is meant to be the first step in testing for treatment-resistant depression. Rapidly iterated multiple prototypes for device. Minimized client’s needed table-sized workspace to a device the size of a cellphone.
